What factors affect air polution in cities?

If on I did a science project on that title..What could my Purpose, Hypothesis , procedure, Results and conclusion be?

Location for one. Cities like Los Angeles have poor air quality because they're located right up against the mountains.

During the summer this causes a phenomenon called a temperature inversion. Colder air flowing from the ocean traps the warmer polluted air underneath it. Makes for some pretty sorry living conditions.
