It started out with just one mouse...and we didn't want to kill it but now we have a real problem on our hands. We don't want to use poison because our dog has already caught three mice on her own. What can we do?

I like the sonic repellents. I also like glue traps, keep them hidden so the dog cant walk over them but they work just as
well.

No they are not cruel, it gets rid of them. Which would you rather? No mice or being a hospitable host?

Also, there are traps out there that are covered. Before I had two cats I used to use those and I got a hit on them every night. give it two nights to work because mice don't like new scenarios, they are creatures of habit. Once they adapt to it they will look inside this hole and BAM! no more mouse. Use the peanut butter as bait.

It is the D-Con covered mousetrap I would trust most, you can see a picture of it here

Hope that helps!

First of all eliminate access points. Then seal up ALL food in mouse proof containers. Mice are pretty sneaky openings as small as a dime offer access. Use steel wool they can't gnaw through it. Get Tupperware or similar containers with snap on lids. If mice can't get in or find food they don't hang around especially when they sense they're being hunted.

As for traps I like Tip Traps they're safer than spring loaded traps and just as effective. If you don't mind spending a little money get a couple Rat Zapper electric traps. They use 9 volt batteries to zap the critters. Work great too.

Gross as it is for you to deal with, the old fashioned mouse traps work the fastest and deadliest. One snap and the problem is dead. Best bait, peanut butter. If you can't handle that they do have the ones the mice go in and then they close.Do not under any circumstance get the sticky traps, if the mouse is big enough they will run with the trap and your dog can get caught on it.

I also have that problem every fall once the farmer plows the field behind my house. I don't like to kill them either but I too have dogs and won't use poision. I set those wooden 'Victor mouse traps. This year I caught 11 and even now I see new poop in my drawers(my kitchen drawers that is)

You can try sonic repellents. Mice can't stand high-piched sounds. Another thing you can try is to put out cotton balls soaked in peppermint oil. They hate the smell of it.

well my sister had a bad infestation about two months ago. we have like 5 cats, so we "let her borrow" our best mouser. she has not seen one since.
that cat only killed one, but it scared the rest away.
hope this helps... not very many people care for cats...

i agree the traps work really good too.
