ok i got over the fact that im coneited. but the thing is why do non conceited people say that being conceited is bad. i mean i have lots of friends, a loving boyfriend, im always in the middle, everybody luvs me, im loveable, and i got luv for everybody expect for this one girl. so what is he problem?? are they jealous because we are more confindent than them??? or are they just jealous for no reason??? i just wanna know what the problem is. i hear alot of people sayin:" oh i cant stand coneited people". and i also hear people say: "i dont understand why conceited people think they look good because theyre butt ugly". but i dont understand non coneited people. so what is the problem???

ok but i do all that stuff. i think that its all about me, i talk about myself alot, im constly in the mirror 24/7 just to see myself but yet i still have alot of friends and no problem. yeah i might be shallow, only care about me, i think that im better lookin and i think that i look good no matter where i am. and even when i know i do i always ask people do i look ok just to hear them talk about me. and they know it too. but yet i still have a good life. so what is the problem with???

Well first off, I believe it is more so the connotation of the word. To most people "conceited" means the person is stuck up or snobby - that they think far too highly of themselves, in which case being self-confident and conceited would not be synonymous.
Just be careful - if people are calling you conceited then it might be possible that your demeanor is not exactly as you think it is, and you are giving the wrong impression to people. But if you are truly just self-confident, then that is awesome, and I hope that you keep that confidence. =) There are many people out there that are just jealous of those with self-confidence, and will tear them down to make themselves feel better. But in any case, don't let this bother you. Just be yourself and forget about if anyone else has a problem with you. =)

there is a very fine line between being self confident and being conceited. they are not the same thing as each other as Katsumi pointed out. It is great to be confident about oneself and love everybody as you state. Conceited is more being full of yourself and NOT caring about others. I view it as being selfish. Merriam Webster dictionary defines conceited as "having or showing an excessively high opinion of ones self".
Non conceited people do not in general like those who are because we view them as being self absorbed, shallow, and having an "its all about me" attitude. Look at what I am wearing, look who I am dating, and aren't you impressed? blah blah blah. That is not a nice thing. Whereas being self confident means that you just radiate confidence. you are OK with your own skin. You don't need recognition from others for that. You exude a positive attitude. It may or may not have anything to do with how you look at all.

It could be simple jealousy. On the down side, sometimes it can be good to be confident, but not arrogant, because arrogance turns into vanity. There problem is, aforesaid, probably jealousy, they're jealous because you have something they don't have, maybe you got the boyfriend they wanted and etc.

its great to be proud of who you are, but being conceited is not a good thing. there is a difference.
