The network administrator for a marketing company is concerned about the performance of the network. A company technician discovers a high volume of network traffic between PCs and the departmental media server. Which two devices could be used to divide the network and improve performance? (Choose TWO.)

A - bridge
B - hub
C - repeater
D - switch
E - wireless access points

Another question, is there a way I can send a message to an individual that replies to my question?

Well, I'm replying the same way to everyone: Come on, you can't honestly tell me that this kind of stuff is useful. This stuff is pure stupid and only hardware freaks are interested in knowing how many pins some wire has.

A previous answerer did a pretty good job on the Switch.

A bridge divides a network because it does not propagate packets across the bridge unnecessarily.

This stuff is useful if you are configuring networks.

You can send a message to people if the allow it (I do)

Its the difference between a run of the mill tech that can fix a few problems, and a Good Tech that can fix the majority of problems without having to research problems, which one do you think has the highest pay / job security?

D. Switches can route traffic, so there is no wasted bandwidth, traffic from the media server will only be routed through the most direct route, and not uselessly repeated through the network.

A. A bridge can effectively double the bandwidth of a computer, by combining 2 network interfaces into a single one on a computer, So you could combine 2 Gigabit connections into one 2 Gig Connection. The bottleneck will probably be on the connection between the media server and the network. for instance 10 workstations all wanting 1 Gig files off the server will mean the server uploading 10 Gigs to the network while the workstations only need to download 1 Gig each.
