LOL....haha...what's wrong with you, don't you know that there are way more white people on welfare than black people. But, I'll answer this question in another light.

Because, after a black person gets a felony charge, however it may have come about, its hard for this particular race to get another job. #1 it was hard to get a job anyway being black and #2 now he/she has a charge the odds are even higher.Versus, white people who have more connections and can get H.R. to overlook their charge(s).

The majority of welfare recipients are white actually. Stop stereotyping people. The question should be, why are white people so lazy and racist? If they were so hardworking they wouldn't need to use the Blacks for cheap labor in the south for 300 years. It pisses me off that so many hard working black/latino people that make an income get called 'welfare boomers' by ignorant white people just because they have things that those lazy poor whites don't have. If you think this then please don't consider having black friends.

Actually this is a very valid question, no matter the intentions of the person who wrote it. Malcolm X when asked what his ultimate aim was once said "the only way the problem can be solved is first the white man and the black man have to be able to sit down at the same table, and the white man must feel free to speak his mind without worrying about hurting the feelings of the *****, and that so called ***** has to feel free to speak his mind without worrying about hurting the feelings of that white man. Then we can get the real issues out from in under the rug, and take an intelligent approach to getting this problem solved".
Of course he was talking about the civil rights movement, but I believe that this issue is not so far disconnected. The true statistics are this, out of 12.8 million people who are on welfare 39.8% of them our African American, which is the highest among any ethnicity in the United States. That's 5.1 million people, out of a population that close to 39 million that means that a little over 13% of the African American population is on welfare. Where as the total number of white people on welfare only accounts for 2% of their population. Let's take this a step further nearly 10% of the African American population receives food stamps, and I'm sure if I looked at unemployment rates the numbers would be high. My point is we can never change the problem among the African American community until we admit there is one. Stop being so afraid to look at these numbers and let's just admit that there's something wrong. Let's clean up the communities, let's decrease our high school drop out rates, and increase college enrollment. Let's stop the continuous black on black crime, or hell let's stop the violent crimes in general. Pull up our pants, look professional, stop idolizing hip-hop culture, and start idolizing TED talks... lol. Enough with the drug abuse, and enough with the infatuation that the selling of drugs is OK among our youth. I'm so sick of hearing about the staggering numbers of single mothers among the African American communities. "Fathers" start taking care of your kids. We can still turn this around but first we have to recognize that there is a problem. Second we have to stop playing the victim and stop making excuses for ourselves. Lastly we need to do something about it. I hope this truly answers the question.

****** up question...or IS IT..I'M A WHITE AMERICAN FELON. I CAN'T GET WELFARE AND IT'S NOT BECAUSE I'M WHITE. IT'S BECAUSE OF A DECISION I MADE. I DID SOMETHING ILLEGAL. I CAN'T VOTE. I HAVE NO VOICE IN THE POLITICAL SYSTEM. I STILL PAY TAXES TO SUPPORT PEOPLE WHO NEED AND ABUSE THE WELFARE SYSTEM THAT I AM NOT ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN. EVEN IF I AM UNEMPLOYED, HAVE NO FOOD TO EAT OR A PLACE TO GO HOME TO. NO WELFARE for me means, NO FOOD STAMPS (no breakfast, no lunch, no dinner and no snacks in between), (no water, no juice, no coffee and no milk), NO MONEY (no medicine, no trips to the doctor, no dentist, no toothbrush, no toothpaste, no clothes, no shoes, no soap, no paper, no pencils, no phones) and NO PUBLIC HOUSING ( no bed, no shower, no kitchen to cook even if I did have food stamps) Basically the government says GET A JOB OR STARVE AND SLEEP ON THE STREET.

Numerically, there are MORE poor whites in America than blacks. But statistically, there are more poor minorities. Because there are so many whites, the more fortunate whites outnumber the unfortunate ones.Minorities numbers are hard to get by because their population is limited. When you have 100 people and 10 are on welfare, then 10% of those people are on welfare but when you have 50 people and 10 are on welfare, then 20% are on welfare so stop generalizing.

The same reason why so many white or asian people are on welfare. Some people just can't get jobs, and they are really struggling so your question is not funny!

Unfortunately the ones who are on welfare are victims of society. African Americans have always had a disadvantage when it comes to education and employment. It's hard for those who don't have the education to gain good jobs in order to take care of their families. There is more to it but I don't feel like typing it all. Just know that there are a good amount of Black people who are NOT on welfare and a good amount of White people who ARE on welfare.
