I have been busy this week with helping others.
I know one couple that is very poor people but they spend there time a couple weeks before Christmas collecting gifts and taking to little children that is not having a real good Christmas.
I know these people never have a gift to wake up to on Christmas morning.
Danielle (My Daughter) & I went and bought presents for them, wrapped beautiful, make cookies and delivered to their house...
It was sad they were so Happy.
We told them they could not open until Christmas morning.

So any ideals out there of what we can do for a good deed at
Christmas time?

Last but down least:
*~~Happy Holidays To All~~*

The teachers in my school took up a collection and gave a very large monetary gift to our custodian. This dear woman cried and cried, and was truly surprised by the gift. Her husband passed away just last year, and she is raising her grandchildren. She is very poor, but never complains; in fact, she always smiles and is so sweet and concerned for others. The thing is, all we gave her was money, and yes, we all complain we are underpaid, but we have so much more than she does, and in truth, she gives more to us than we could ever repay, just by being herself. I don't know how to explain it, but she is very quiet and humble, and works hard, and has so much faith, that she inspires the rest of us. I love her dearly, and if she were my mother, I'd feel very honored.

I saw an ad on freecycle a couple of weeks ago. An abused 4 year old girl had been removed from the home with the clothes on her back. This lady was asking for free used clothes for this little girl. I didn't have anything to give but I sent a message to this lady saying I would help. I went to goodwill and found the best looking play clothes I could find in her size. Then went to retail store and bought a few nice outfits and a couple of little handbags. It wasn't much but since I was the only person to respond to the ad it was a lot to these people and this little girl.

On Sat there was an article in our local paper about a local high school in a low income area in our large town..A teacher had spent her own money and was asking for new or gently used gifts that her kids could chose from to give their families for Christmas..she had 400 kids that could use her assistance..I found 14 new items that I had either bought or were given to me and never used..I delivered them to the school today. I also contributed to and shopped for a group Christmas basket..We adopted a family of 5, food, clothes and toys..

I moved back home a couple of years ago to help take care of my parents. One day after that I met a high school friend of mine that I hadn't saw in several years in town. She told me about her job, which I ended up going to work there. As time went on her daughter (married) became pregnant, just this last week during our ice storm that we had here, her daughter had a boy. This whole family don't have the money that they needed to buy what the baby needs. So I happen to have a lot of baby stuff. I washed and folded and packed all this stuff up. There was about anything and everything they could need for this baby. I wrapped it up in Christmas paper as a gift (which it was), gave it to my friend. When she saw what it was, she had tears in her eyes as they were so happy to get this stuff for the baby.

We always give money and other items to our county food bank for, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

In addition, I give money in a best friends name to the food bank rather than give her a Christmas and birthday gift. She will be 92, tomorrow.

She in turn gives in my name.

We started doing this for each other when I was no longer able to go to the department stores.

So much money is wasted, buying gifts, just for the sake of giving to people like me and my friend.

I'm 72 and she being 92, have all we want or need.

It is the gift of love and the gift of giving, that gives me the most pleasure about the Christmas Season.

A good place to give is to the women's shelter. They always have families in need of Christmas Cheer. They have always been my favorite charity even when I worked there.

Lets pray, that everyone will do something for just one person, this Christmas Season.

"GOD BLESS US ALL"

"MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR"

A co worker of my husband's has cancer and has had to quit work. Naturally, his health insurance ended also. Him and his family are having a hard time dealing not only with his illness, but with a lot of financial problems also. I've organized a gift of food items from me and my family and I'm accepting donations from others toward it. I'm planning to deliver it dressed as Santa. I'm hoping to do this without them knowing who has given it to them.
It's the best feeling in the world when you help someone who needs it so badly. I only wish I could do more for them. Good for you for helping someone also! Have a very Merry Christmas! :)

honor your fellow man and do something unselfish to help another as Christ did. Religion should be the influence not the focus. Christ sacrafice was a sacrafice for his "children". That is why gifts are given. The gift is symbolic of the gift that christ gave to us. To make christianity the center of the holiday you must tell the story and demonstrate the unselfish act. You don't give a gift because it is expected you give a gift to demonstrate the act of compassion. Others see your example and implement it in their homes. The message is demonstrated with an act not a sermon. Simply: You lead by example.

Yes, have been doing extras, like everyone else. Just trying to give more where it's needed...whether it's financially or just of myself. Most often it's the simplest things that we do that are the greatest gifts, as shown and expressed by everyone here. Nothing compares to gifts from the heart.

I have a friend (age 86) who lives alone--twice a week I visit and take her a little token just to cheer her up, her children doesn't seem to visit very much and she is delighted to see me twice a week.

This will be the first Christmas since I met her--So I'm really struggling with what to do for her.
