CARACAS (Reuters) - A video of a Gucci- and Louis Vuitton-clad politician attacking capitalism then struggling to explain how his luxurious clothes square with his socialist beliefs has become an instant YouTube hit in Venezuela.

Venezuelan Interior Minister Pedro Carreno was momentarily at a loss for words when a journalist interrupted his speech and asked if it was not contradictory to criticize capitalism while wearing Gucci shoes and a tie made by Parisian luxury goods maker Louis Vuitton.

"I don't, uh ... I ... of course," stammered Carreno on Tuesday before regaining his composure.

That is because Venezuela is only in its first stage of communism, he must change into a "new" man that does not want to buy things for himself and only think about the group he must 1. wear clothing that is old and smells 2.give all his money to the people 3. work 7 days a week for the people this is only the beginning of a new era for Venezuela where the party is the people and the people are the party. LOL .....This is what i am guessing CHE would say!

the reality of socialism is the accumulating of wealth with the powerful politicians. I don't think Kim Jong or Hugo Chavez or Fidel Castro have ever lacked anything that they desired, but the peasants under them are lucky to have the air to breathe.

True liberal hypocrisy. Liberals dont mind if other liberals and socialists live in luxery, as long as a conservative minister doesnt have any luxeries... Barb Streisand can have millions, but lets not dare let a minister have anything nice... How come liberals never complain about other liberals who have lavish lifestyles?

Reminds me of the Hollywood limosine liberals whining about global warming and pollution while riding around in limo's and private jets. Hypocrites

It is remarkably similar to animal rights activists donning leather Berks, John Edwards trying to be the voice of the poor while living in his huge mansion, and Algore flying in private jets after leaving one of his many mansions that alone could supply a small country with enough electricity for a decade.
Oh...maybe that could be because they are socialists as well? Hmmmm....yep...must be it!

This is an illustration of the sham that Hugo Chavez and his henchman are perpetrating on the poor in their country.

Not really, since most left-wingers are not strict socialists. Kind of like most right-wingers are not strict religious fascists ... that's true, right?

Hypocrisy, yes. Though not near as hypocritical as so-called "ministers" on the religius right who live in million dollar mansions, con their followers into buing tem private jets--while at the same time using meth and male prostitutes.

Oh, and then theres the "defender of exploited children" chasing pages all over Washington, or the one playing with hookers while "championing family values"--or the one who ot caught in an airport bathrom soliciting sex or the one who hired his mistresss to "work" for him, or. . . . .

Look--there are some hypocrites in any given group. The distinctive thing about the right-wing is that they have given us solid evidence that, unlike most groups, that's teir standard practice.
