I am to participate in a debate tomorrow regarding the Shakespearian play "Macbeth." What I am stuck on at this point is making my opening argument. I am to argue the point that Macbeth should have been given capital punishment if he were captured rather than killed. The people I am against are fighting that he should not have been killed if he were caught. Can someone please create an opening argument for me? I already have my other info that I need. What I imagine is the use of 2 or so quotes from the play and no less than 200 wds but no more than 500. Any help is apprecited and first good answer I get will recieve best answer points! Thanks.

there is the old Biblical quote, 'an eye for an eye' see if you can find it, as it has long been the justification for capital punishment. And you could argue that MacDuff need not have killed Macbeth, but simply defeated him and captured him, but instead MacDuff chose capital punishment for Macbeth and killed him. He was, rightly so, judge, jury and executioner. Because it was the custom of the times of the story and of the writing of the story to punish usupers with death.
