Let me suggest that for all this marriage registration you should engage a lawyer who will get all this done on the same day. Now what you all need for the registration, Marriage certificate issued by the priest or the temple you got married, in UP two witnesses(parents or close relatives of both are best witnesses)who attended your marriage will be witnessing your marriage registration with their ID proof (Passport, VotersID card, Pan Card, Driving License etc any of these), Proof of residence of both bride & groom, Proof of age of both (Passport, VotersID card, Ration card, School leaving certificate, Driving license any of these can be used for age proof & even for residence proof) Photographs of the marriage ceremonies( two or three), Passport photographs of both of you as well the two witnesses, marriage invitation card if any, registration fee & other charges as applicable for the registration & the lawyer's fee. Arrange these documents etc & get married in any Hindu temple, engage a lawyer for this marriage registration job & get the marriage certificate on the same day. Just do as I told you, don’t try venturing for the registration yourself as many Idiots will be suggesting you just get a lawyer to do this job for you.

The Best way to do so is...
You are from UP but you are in US so i belive money would not be an issue... all you need to do is contact a good lawyer,, the total charges inclusive of everything would be Rs 20000 (including bribe & all) & rest all will be taken care by him....

Hey friend there is no rules that the same person who has visited the marriage has to come for a eye witness. Go to temple get married happily and take some snapshots and videos. Later go to registration office with some friends and if possible get a lawyer with you. Also get age proofs, ration card, address proof and other details. BY THE BY MY "ADVANCE MARRIAGE WISHES"....! May your new life be happy and sweet.

If you go with non temple registration, you can go to registarr office and do it. You need 2 witness, photo, age proof, address proof.and they will put one month notice for any objection.then they issue a certificate.

If you go to temple, It will be faster. But you need to do it as atleast a small function. you may need to submit invitation letter and a few witness.

check in google site for hindu marriage act.

hi sandeep,
now a days nothing is very difficult.even i have to get my marriage registered ,just that my husband is not able o devote much time towards the matter.its a fact that people like a good lawyer can help you if you are ready to spend as much as Rs.3000 or $77 approx. it just requires you to carry a Photo of your marriage ceremony..preferably putting sindoor (in care you are a hindu), Invitaion card of marriage (not necessarily), Age proof (both your and your spouse's,residence proof, two witnesses(they can be the same as the ones who attended your marriage).it takes very little time.the rules and governing laws are the same anywhere in india...there is nothing specific for us U.P..ites...
ALL THE BEST...
