Go to start\ programs\ Accessories\system tools\ System Information. Click on Tools and go to DX diagnose tool.
Shortcut, Start \ run and type dxdiag you will see the amount of memory and the kind of memory do you had.
Except for the brand, its up for your choice to chose provided, you had seen your specs of your unit memory.

what make n model is it??? you dont give much away do you?? look at the make model etc etc and google the model etc etc and if your lucky it will lead to a specification chart.
