My friend said that the Navy Seals are the *** Crack of the military and the Marine Corps are the real fighters, I agreed, but I also said, "they arent the *** crack they just arent the best department" What would you say?

marines are more frontline, and they are very tough. Only the very determined and slighty disturbed though can be a seal. They push you to the extream limit to see if you break, and they are not desperate to get recruits, unlike the marines...
Don't do war though, give peace a chance!

tell your friend to say that to a Navy Seal and find out what he thinks of that. As for the comparison, Navy Seals and Marine Corps are virtually the same, the difference being that the Seals are more water adequate while the Marines are more land adequate.
And to be technical the Marines are a division of the Navy.

Navy Seals are highly trained fighters I think they go through at least a years training after boot camp.. Similar to Army Rangers. Each one takes special training after basic training... Out of all of the services the Marines have the most physical boot camp followed by the Army. The Air Force and Navy are more technical and have less need for hand to hand combat so if you are only comparing basic training The Marine Boot camp is the toughest..

why dont your friend try out for the Seals I can guarantee they wouldnt last 2 minutes. The Navy Seals along with any other part of the military are REAL fighters. I say your friend is ignorant

your friend is an idiot. marines are on the front lines, yes, but if you're talkin about navy seals...they go through some of the most rigorous training you could ever imagine, they are the elite. now if you are just talkin about navy compared to marines, well lol, everyone has their own opinion about that, but becoming a marine is a lot tougher and yes i would say they are the real fighters.

A*s crack probably refers to the reputation of SEAL Team 6 - they're a rowdy bunch.
As to SEALs vs. Marines - it depends on what kind of job you want to do.
SEALs sneak in, take recon, patrol now and then, snipe people, they attack by Sea Air and Land. But Marines are the guys that swarm in, hold the line, and fight large numbers with large numbers.
