So I applied for health insurance and was denied coverage because the medical history that I provided did not match what they had. So i called them to find out why this was and they said that I was getting prescriptions filled on a regular basis. I haven't had a prescription filled in over 5 years!! so I asked them where this was happening and they informed me it was in Maryland. i live in CA and have never even been to MD. I told them this and they said that this is what came up when they ran my SSN and Date of birth and they can't just take my word that it is not me. should I be worried? what can I do to fix this?

Sounds like you might have a problem or they might have entered the info wrong into their system.

Check with your local Social Security office. See if somebody is using your information and what can be done to fix this.

Yeah be worried have the health insurance give you the addy and phone number of the pharmacy in maryland, call them and notify them. Look up reporting identity theft there are federal agencies that can help. If you do nothing things will get worse. do a credit check and see if you have any outstanding credit card balances in your name.
