I really do think the zune is an awesome device and i'd REALLY like to get one. I think zunes offer more to the consumer: Radio, bigger scratch resistant screen, premium headphones, etc. In short, the zune kicks ipod where it hurts! However, before I pawn my ipod, there are 4 issues (in order of importance) with the zune that microsoft needs to address before I get a zune
1. Software
-This is THE reason why im not plunking hundreds of dollars getting a zune! I thought the zune 2 software was an upgrade but it is a DOWNGRADE! Kept crashing my computer, though I have the latest zune updates. It syncs EVERYTHING multiple times and the tags for artist and album are frequently labeled "unknown". So you have to manually go through each song, (can't do this as a group) and list the correct info or else you will have a bunch of unknown songs on your player. If you have a lot of songs, it's too time consuming and unworkable.
2. Customer Service
-If you have a problem, unlike apple's no-question policy, Microsoft wont send you a new zune
3. Battery Life
About half that of its 80 gb ipod classic competitor. Microsoft overstated its battery life
-Check out cnet.com article: http://crave.cnet.com/8301-1_105-9823477...
4. Screen resolution
-The Zune's 320x240 screen resolution is exactly the same as the iPod's 320x240. The iPod has much higher pixel density at 163 pixels per inch.

Ipods work fine with both
Zunes prefer PC
Zunes have big screens and cost less per gig,
but Ipod touch is probably just as good.
If you have a pc and don't want to shell 400+ for a 'tocuh'
go with the Zune

I personally prefer mobiblu products. They are loades with way more features (radio, line in recording, voice recording, etc) that neither the zune or ipod have and they are less expensive. Fantastic sound quality and sexy/ cute as heck.
