The sun is giving off all colors of photons (Roy G. Biv). The air is made up of different molecules; when the photons from the sun hit the molecules in the air the photons scatter off those molecules.
Clouds are white because they have a high reflective rate throughout the visible range of wavelengths.
The sky is blue becuase the blue, indigo, and violent photons have more energy and a shorter wavelength. This makes it possible for these photons to have an easier time scattering off the molecules in the air.
The red, orange, and yellow photons have less energy and a longer wavelenth. As a result, these phontons have a harder time scattering off the molecules in the air.

Here are the facts.
Clouds usually are white because they are basically fog at high altitude. When you see fog near to the ground it appears white also.
Clouds develop that dark greyish colour at the bottom because these clouds are thicker and more dense and the suns light cannot make it to the bottom of the cloud thus appearing dark on the bottom.
The sky is blue because the mollicules of the gases in the atmosphere reflect blue light a tiny bit more efficiently than the other colours and blue light tends to scatter every where giving the sky a blue hue.

sparkx When the later part of the day begins the rays of light cause the clouds to turn from either red or gray it has to all do with the amount of sunlight in the earths atmosphere. How many diferent kinds of clouds do you observe or see in the entire day.?Keep in mind that when a storm is approaching the clouds start getting darker and then drop lower .The sky is blue because the sunlight in the sky spreads or diffuses i.e.,scatters the waves of light in the atmosphere, the sky then turns blue, but as you go higher it turns deeper and deeper blue because there is less oxygen at higher altitudes.OK Does this help you in your question of the sky.?

Clouds are white because they are made up tiny particles of water vapor, while the sky is blue because light is scattered by the atmosphere particles absorbing long wave radiations and reflecting the short wave radiations.

Hi. Clouds are white because they scatter all visible wavelengths. Nitrogen (of which the air is mostly composed) has a slight blue color as a gas.

the sky is blue because it scatters light (see Rayleigh scattering), and clouds are white because they reflect light (which is also why they're red at sunset)
