fall and winter seem to me to be the worst to be lonely, important holidays are during those months and no one should be alone...(many suicides and attempted suicide during this time of the year)

Personally, I don't think that it matters what season or time of the year it is to qualify as being the worst of all to be lonely. Loneliness can happen to any person at any time of the year. It's a sad fact, but it is true that being lonely is an awful feeling. It has been a very long time since I felt lonely, and on any given day, at no certain time, without any warning, I will suddenly remember something that has happened that saddens me very much and here comes that lonely feeling again. Even though I have plenty of people around me for support, and as much as I love them all and they love me, it simply can not fill that lonely void that I sometimes still feel inside because I lost someone very, very close to me. Some people are lonely all of the time (365 days of the year) and others are lonely just during certain times of the year, especially if it is during the holidays. I don't really think that loneliness actually has a particular season for some people. I've found that with time, a lot of loneliness tends to eventually disappear when people pick up the pieces and carry on with their lives. Other people tend to cling to that lonely feeling and don't really care about picking up all of the broken pieces and carrying on with their lives in an effort to try to eliminate some of that loneliness. As an individual, I personally do not associate loneliness with any particular season. But there are plenty of other people around to where their loneliness can be any season, any time, any day and especially the times that people tend to associate with happiness, such as on certain birthdays, holidays or anniversaries. To me, it's a lot like the song by Three Dog Night says, "One is the loneliest number," if you let it continue to be. But life does not have to be lonely, if you choose for it not to be. ♥

I would have to say winter since it's colder and you want to snuggle with that special someone. Not to mention there's Christmas, New Year's and Valentine's Day during the winter. But like anything, that too will pass. Before you know it, it'll be Spring Fever and you'll find new love! WooHoo!

Best wishes!

Never been lonely so really can't say. I do prefer spring and fall over summer and all three of them over winter.

This year has been year round but it's especially worse in the winter because you have no one to snuggle and keep you warm.

I think Winter is the hardest because it is cuddling weather and because of the Holidays, it makes being alone more noticeable!!

Winter, because you can't get out to meet new people, or just walk around to shake off the blues....
