I was looking into getting a birth control shot, but I don't know which one would be best. Can anyone give me some ideas and advantages and disadvantages? Links would be greatly appreciated.

I got the depoprevara(probably misspelled) shot and I bled for months and gained weight or an apppetite, but then I also have a friend who has been on it for 10 years almost and never had a problem, I guess the side effects are different for each person.

there is only one birth control shot. Depo provera. i was on it for over a year. Quick advantage- shot four times a year/vs daily pill. Disadvantage- I bled for a long time when i came off it. it sucked

There is only one that I know of, depo provera, and IMO I would never ever ever recommend this to ANYONE. It causes a lot of very negative and health risking side affects.

Please google Depo provera lawsuit and check out its reviews online:

I'm a former depo user and it treated me horribly, please don't get this shot.

Yeah, i think the side effects are different from each person too.
My mom had one and she bled for 6 months, while my friend got hers and she's totally fine and normal
