This has been going on for 3 monthes now her abstinent behavior. i've been making her sleep on the couch while i do this but friends say i'm going about it the wrong way. What do you think?

Are you seriously saying that you are sleeping with someone else in your family home while your wife is on the sofa? What is wrong with you? How immature can you be? A real man would talk to her and find out what's going on. You don't love her if you would even think of doing this, but to actually go along with it...... If she has any sense, she would leave you.

It is never ok to bring another woman home. Have you talked to your wife to see what the problem was? Have you tried to romance your wife and make her feel special? Like it was your first time. Try some sensitivity.

you are a very disrespectful man!!!! even if your wife isn't giving it up you should at least respect the home that you and her share. maby she isn't giving it up because she is gettin it else where, if she is at least she respects your house unlike you. the women you bring home should be ashamed of themselves. ask yourself why should i sleep with a woman who has no respect for herself (if she did she would not have sex in your home while your wife slept on the couch), but hey one disrespectful person deserves another.

I really hope that you can learn to communicate with your wife before she learns to "communicate" with someone else. Hopefully, she already is. Yeah, I bet that your lack of skills are the reason she isn't feeling the urge. I had a boyfriend that loved sex, and because he loved sex he wanted me to love sex to so we could have lots more of it. He did whatever I needed to get me to a good place. It got to the point where I would sit next to him and all I could think about was having sex with him.
I'm sure your not giving her enough foreplay so she really must be tired of your a*s and if it were me - you'd come home one day and the locks would be changed.
