I don't think I could survive without music ... well ... I could ... but I wouldn't want to. I agree with the Dick Clark statement "Music is the map of our lives". I think for most people dang near every song has a memory, a feeling, an event, a person or era attached to it. It's one of the easiest ways to evoke a feeling ... and often with just a few notes or line of lyrics from a song. I'm not muscially talented, but I can remember and get lyrics quite easily. I enjoy all kinds ... most kinds ... but have my favorites too. The movie "August Rush" was absolutely amazing to me! I think if you like music in any way, shape or form ... you'll enjoy this movie.
Happy Holidays!!

Music brings back to me what was going on in my life. If the song is from the late 50s I remember my high school years. From the early 60s, my Navy years. The late 60s and the 70s, when I was in to country music, makes me think of the horses I had back then. The 80s and 90s remind of the wonderful times I had with my second wife, she passed away in 1997. I don't even listen to the modern Rap Crap. I just keep it to music from the 40s to the 60s.

If I hear a song that I can relate to a time, or particular incident, in my life, I will like it, wether the occasion was happy or sad. I love songs that uplift me, encourage me. I love songs that take me back to when I was camping with my parents when they were still married, when they were still alive. Music is like a photo album. It makes me remember things, go back to places in my mind and in my heart that I otherwise would not visit.

My favorite songs and music become the "soundtrack" to my life. I can hear an old song that reminds me of the time when...there are love songs, break-up songs, lullabyes, dance songs, party songs, driving songs, hopeful songs, sad songs, silly songs...all mean something to me. All of that music is the soundtrack to the ongoing movie of me.
