If I don't lay down then and sleep then I don't know what would happen. I almost instantly fall asleep and am completly out sometimes for hours. When I wake up my heart starts beating really hard and I have to relax until it starts regularly again to get out of bed. Besides just going to the doctor has anyone else had this experiance?

could possibly be a sleep disorder, like obstructive sleep apnea, you need to see a doctor and have a sleep study done.

there are so many things you need to assess here....the first is simple, are you getting enough sleep regularly? do you work nights? do you drink alcohol often? if you are female, does this exhaustion come right before you start your period? do you have a healthy balanced diet? do you exercise regularly? if you tend to sleep 6-8hrs per night, don't work nights or swing shift, don't drink alcohol daily/regularly, aren't getting ready to start, eat balanced regular diet and get some regular exercise and this is happening to you then I'm stumped. the rapid heart rate on awakening may be a little dehydration, try drinking plenty of water during the day, if you are sleeping many hours when you would usually be awake, drinking fluids. you should get a check-up if correcting any of the above does not help(you should probably get a check-up anyway if you haven't in the last year).
