He is legally separated and daughter comes over every other weekend. I go to his house but he makes it a point to take me home at whatever time.
He tells me he needs time to work out his situation, this is ongoing.
Have any guys ever done or though something like this?

You are playing dating roulette messing with a separated man. Being in his shoes, I will tell you that he not prepared to commit to the first couple of gals that take interest in him.

There is just too much going on in his head at this time. You are only getting maybe 33% of his attention right now. He has many other things on his mind because he is going through the biggest change of his life.

For instance, I am dating a gal that I can honestly say is perfect but my mind is so full of if's and but's that I can't even begin to think of settling down with her.

Call it bad timing. Let him go for a few of months. If he is still interested in you then it was meant to be.

Do you spend time in the bedroom? Are his soon to be ex's things still there? Does she call to check on him after you go or something.. Have you asked him WHEN he is considering inviting you to spend the night? If he says after the divorce is over, ok then I wouldn't push it but if he says I don't know, then he is just not as ready for a relationship as you are. Either wait or move on.

Think about this from his daughters point-of-view. How would you feel if you saw a woman other than 'mommy' in daddy's bed at night?

If he is not divorced, you shouldn't be with him at all. If you insist on being with him, just follow his rules about it or move on. His first responsibility is to his daughter, not to you.
