You definately should at least talk to the doctor about it even if it's only over the phone. So that way he or she knows what's going on and can head the problem off before it becomes something worse. Glad your foot's not broken.

A deep tissue or bone bruise can take longer than a month to heal. If you are continually stressing the healing tissue it is likely that you are contributing to the lengthy healing time. An occult fracture can show up after the initial presentation of the injury. If you are concerned, make an appointment to see your physician or get a referral to an orthopedist. Depending on what imaging studies were initially performed, further imaging might be warranted.

Sounds exactly like a contusion, and the popped blood vessel could be a hematoma.

I hurt my foot a few years back, and it wasn't broken but was a contusion.

They can take time to heal.

a sprain is often much worse than a break, and takes a lot longer to heal. I would say that if you are worried, go see the doctor. But I bet he says the same thing.

often times a small fracture will not show on intial ex rays, this normally takes 2-4 weeks to show up. If it has been a couple days give it some time, if it has been more then two weeks get it rechecked
