Y wanted to put this in Family and Relationships: Marriage & Divorce...LOL

I have to say I find valid and usable ideas in everyone's answers, including the tongue-in-cheek. I agree we need a universal, QUALITY health care system...and the same goes for our pathetic public education programs. We need to leave Iraq. How is another debate.
And I have to admit the idea of flushing out the Halls of Congress doesn't sound bad.
We have many needs. It all takes money...not just leadership. Where's the money to come from?
Raise taxes on all Alcohol, tobacco and firearms. If we're going to sell them, sell them high [financially speaking].
Legalize CERTAIN drugs. That would clear-up some of the back-log legally and we could tax them.
Other than that I'd like to say thank you for your impassioned responses.

The first thing I would do is find enough people who could fill senate and congress, and this would be one of my top priorities, and I would do what I could to get them INTO office and all the other incumbents OUT!
Next Id secure the borders, step up things in the middle east get the terrorist under control,Id be marching into Iran and tell Russia and China if they wants some of this, come and get it!
I would see about making jobs for Americans , by buildling up are munitions and artillery.
Next Id make the oil companies release control of the automotive industry so they could make cars that are bigger, safer and get better fuel mileage(ive done this on older models it CAN be done).
Id have a fair 10% sales tax and do away with income tax.
Those are just a FEW things I would do.

First of all-call Linda Tripp and see if she wants to record all my calls
I would go to Iraq personally and bring home every soldier in America with the biggest vehicle the world has ever seen
Have free therapy for all the soldiers and their families
Sign a bill stating free healthcare for everyone
Make it mandatory for anyone in the prison system to not get out for good behavior-they will do it again once they get out and to serve all of their time looking at the blank walls.
To reevaluate all the medical examiners offices who have made mistakes and put innocent people in jail/prison-fire those people and bring in competent ones.
Would make it mandatory that whomever enters this country legally learn the language and how to drive-if not-then you will be deported back to whence you came-it's only fair.

Pull the troops out of Iraq.

Then I'd do the following:

End the War on Drugs and decriminalize them. Use the money wasted on the war on Drugs and increase teacher pay. End the "No Child Left Behind" program. Legalize brothels, and have regular, consistent testing for the "workers", while keeping the brothels FAR away from schools (and the general populace), free universal health care. Increase rehab clinics...

My first move would be to gather a council of pastors to be with me in prayer for God's guidance as I would try to lead the nation as HE would desire. I would cut off funding for abortions, outlaw the RU40 bill (yep, yep!), greatly reduce the amount of funds to assist illegal aliens in America, and I'd certainly block the flow of money from illegal aliens going to their native homeland which they're getting tax free. I'd have it codified that marriage is a union between a man and a woman. I'd help the working folk making less than $20, 000! This is starting off good.

I was once told if I truly wanted to have a loving relationship then I had to open my heart and take what ever came until I found it . So yes you just have to know it you will find it . Don't think or believe know you will .

I'd tell NASA to get cracking on the Orion spacecraft, and I'd consult with Gen. Patraeus regarding anything further he might need to continue getting the insurgents out of Iraq.

Then I would form a task group to work out what needs to be done to adequately ensure the security of shipments coming into the US, and I would start work on containing our borders.

I would also demand that ways be found to reduce the costs for healthcare and college education. I'd start with denying scholarships to illegal aliens.

Declare a state of emergency and begin deportation of every illegal in the country; push emergency funding through congress and FINISH the border wall in three months; Give the Iraqi government one year (the clock starts NOW) to get their sh*t together while giving them our full support, training and completion of their infrastructure. When time was up, pull back all troops to Afghanistan and wait it out. The first two-bit country that raised a finger toward us or any of our allies would be nuked to glass slag within hours.
Then --- day two.......

i would find a best way out of Iraq...not fast way. then I would look into healthcare without free handouts..we are not Socialist. then I would look into education and pay the teachers so much more...then Police agencies getting some kind of pay raise and securing our borders and tighting up are defense at home:) peace out!
