i have a black walnut tree and a burch tree cut down, i would like to know if eather one is alright to burn in my fireplace.

If you have a black walnut tree with a decent size trunk, comparatively straight and free of large splits or limbs for 10' or more, it's worth a considerable chunk of change. Contact a hardwood lumber company and you may be able to sell it for enough to allow you to buy all the wood you'd need for the winter. The limbs are also good for woodturners in the area.

Black walnut is too valuable to burn in a fireplace. Birch is good firewood.

Yea but... You might find some wood worker or wood turner who would be happy to buy the black walnut from you.

Yes you can. It's not that good for food contact or as mulch as it will kill plants. I would rather use it for wood working. Wish I had it.
