My husband forgot my birthday one year, I stressed all day about whether to mention it or not! I thought if I said something he would be so upset that he forgot, then I thought if I don't say something and it comes up he will really feel like a heel, plus I really wanted him to remember and I was upset that he forgot too. Well. I waited until we got in bed that night and I told him! He freaked out and I felt so bad! So I suggest you don't say a thing. let it go. It will make him feel awful. Next year though give him a break and tell him before hand that your birthday is coming up.

Good grief, it is only a birthday - one day out of 364. The older you get - we hope! - the less of a big deal you will find them to be. You could just mention it, in passing, but sheesh, it is not a national holiday, don't go off the deep end. Your friendship is more important, right?

Let it go and don't hold resentment. He's your friend every day and not just on your birthday. Don't make your b-day so critical and you will be happier.
