Some people wouldn`t think of it as terrible yet your friend may just be a bit more on the sensitive side, so it matters to her. I can actually see how it would be kindof hurtful because your basically saying she looks bad with long hair, if you think about it. "Because you look a lot better with short hair, you should get a hair cut.. your hairs to long" Would you want someone saying that to you? Definitely not something you want to hear from one of your friends! You should`ve added in "But you still look good with long hair" or something along those lines. She also may have been having a bad day overall, you don`t know what went on in her day before you said that- so possibly she was taking her anger out on you. Hope I`ve helped...

You might not think you did anything wrong... you might think that you were just trying to help by giving her a suggestion. But obviously it hurt her feelings. Maybe she is sensitive about her hair... or maybe she really likes it. See... even though you didn't mean it in a cruel way... she's probably had her hair long for awhile and might have taken it like an insult. She may have taken it like, "Well if my hair looks better short it must look like crap now! Thanks a lot!" Even if that's not what you meant.
Either way she is your friend and you have hurt her feelings... I would wait until she calms down, or write her a letter or e-mail and apologize. Tell her that you didn't mean to offend her... you just think that short hair would look really pretty on her... but that's your personal opinion and that doesn't mean that she looks bad now because she doesn't.
This is really just one of those situations where you just have to explain to her that you didn't mean to hurt it. So sorry to say.... just swallow your pride and apologize. Good Luck! And Merry Christmas!

yes and no. one she is acting like a kid not of age two it is her choice what she does and how she looks.
i know you was making a comment but to some it would have been an insult me i like my hair real short and my family like it long i cut it the way i want and ignore them.
after all it matters on what you think not others but she does need to grow up a bit more.
if she could not take what you said and got all mad at you then she is not really a friend from the start and will end your friendship on something so stupid. she is not worth keeping no one is if they act like that.

if that is how you said it, she should not be upset. I've always felt that a true good friend should be able to tell their friends what no one else can or will. Tell her shes so beautiful that all the hair takes away from her beauty. Only very pretty woman can get away with short hair, in my opionion

Well I guess she likes her long hair and maybe she might feel presure and probably does not want to get it cut and maybe she thought u said it in a harsh way cause she probably thinks u think she looks horrible with long hair I would suggest to give her some time to think about this.
Good luck-

Tell her your sorry and she looks great no matter what her hair looks like. If she continues to ignor you say your really really sorry and your her best friend. If she still is ignoring you maybe she isnt that great of a friend anyway. Ignor her until she comes running back to you, if she starts to give you dirty looks and really starts to bother you, forget about her, she isnt worth it. Hope you can really work things out the first time you appoligize. good luck :]

Some people haven't reached their full maturity level or are just easily frustrated, I think she is probably one of those people. If I were you than I would go and apologize for what I said and tell her that it looks fine the way it is and try and make peace. Hope this helps!

Turn the tables, how would you feel if she said that to you without being asked for an opinion. Time to make nice and apologize or you may lose a friend over something silly.
