7(6)-2 multiply
42-2=40

1: multiply 7 and 6: 7*k(6)-2
2:subtract 2 from 42: 42-2
3: The problem = 40

it fairly is soooooo ordinary! 7k-2 7(6)-2 forty two-2 forty is the respond. what grade are you in?? ok properly you replace the variable with the quantity given, then you definately positioned the quantity in parenthesis then multiply them. thus 7 circumstances 6 then you definately get your answer and subtract 2 from it. then you definately get forty. i learnde this in like 4th grade. fairly ordinary. have faith me in case you do no longer understand this suitable away, colleges gonna be hard for you reason it purely gets harder.

hey kid... substitute the value of k (which is 6) to the supposedly complicated equation : 7k-2. then do the arithmetic. that will do it.
