Rock/Metal would be my guess.
But nerds are usually obsessed with more important things, such as their studies or video games to care for music.

The nerds at my school listen to 90's metal like Guns and Roses and crappy ac/dc or anything on Guitar hero

Whatever suits them. people shouldnt be classified under stereotypes. i dont have to be a gangsta to listen to hip-hop or a nerd to listen to classical. i wouldnt consider myself a nerd necessarily even though i'm into my books and studies but i listen to whatever that makes me feel good and sounds good to my ears.
