There is nothing you can do that would be an "alternative" to sleep. Our bodies were designed to replenish energy in two ways. Eating and sleeping... and if you eat too much it makes you sleepy because your stomach is overworking at digesting the food you ate.

So called "Energy" drinks are not even what they say they are. They are just sugar water and caffeine, which wears off in minutes to like one hour. You would be really lucky if they actually helped you stay awake or gave you any more energy and once they have run your system your body crashes and you become even MORE tired. It's a waste of time and money if you ask me.

Your body needs sleep. Without REM sleep (deep sleep), your brain will not have time to recharge, and begin to decay as a result. If you don't sleep for 3 days or more, you will start hallucinating and going insane. You're eyes will dry out and blur your vision, your circulation will slow, and your heart will palpitate. Eventually, you will die of exhaustion. If you combine this with energy drinks, your heart will give out from all the strain and you'll die even faster. Get what I'm saying? Sleep or die. That's how it works. It's like eating and drinking- you don't have a choice.

What's your situation? Do you need to stay up to work on school projects? If so, just be determined to stay up, take occasional catnaps of no more than 20 min, and then sleep for a day or two afterwards.
If you just don't like sleep, that is not good. There are lots of things in life you might not like but you have to do them. If you don't sleep I guaruntee you you will get less and less happy over time.

I don't think drinking & wasting thousands of dollars of energy drinks would do your kidneys or your wallet any good....Sleep is the bodies way of rejuvenating itself & the only way. I hate sleep too,so I only go to bed when I know that as soon as my head hits the pillow,i'm gunna fall asleep straight away.

Nope, I have trouble sleeping too, usually during the day I try to tire myself out so it's easier to sleep or the sound of the T.V. puts me to sleep or I'll think of something in my mind like a movie and that usually puts me to sleep.Don't drink too many energy drinks they're bad for you to an extent.

Sleeping is not only the best thing you should do, but it is probably the safest for you. Not getting enough sleep for extended periods of time can be hazardous to your health. Eventually, you will become a danger to both yourself and others. As much of a hassle as it may be, get some sleep if you can.

im with you on that... but what the best mix is...
energy drinks + pixie sticks + techno music = WIDE AWAKE!
but there really isnt a way to get rest without sleeping if you do that...
so thats why i set 2-3 nights a week for me to get at least 2-3 hours a sleep on those nights... ^_^

No I wouldn't recommend that, I do not like to sleep either, what I do is stay awake as long as I can, until I can no longer stay awake. I do this; by mostly keeping busy. With activities such as: tv, computer, running, playing video games or listening to music. What I wouldn't recommend is eating large quantities of food, because the foods will not digest well, and simply become fat. l.
Good luck.
