So I'm writing a story my character's running from the bad guys + ends up hiding behind the counter type thingy that's holding all the elements in liquid form (long story as to how it got to that) and I need to know is there any chemical combination you could put in an empty water bottle type thing + you could drop a match in it + has a slow enough reaction time to add the lid + toss it then it would burst into flames thus exploding the bottle + basically making like a fire bomb? I/f so what is it called + what's some other information on it. please + thank you for the help.

...I think Diisopropyl ether would burn too fast

2,2,4-trimethylpentane...hmm...well, i was gonna go with her finding bottles of liquid elements, mixing them then igniting them but that might work too....

Liquids are too limiting. Your heroine discovers solid ferric oxide and aluminum powders. She blends them hurriedly in a bottle, sticks a short length of magnesium ribbon in the mouth, and ignites the end of the ribbon with a butane lighter. She hurls the concoction at the malefactors. The mixture reacts:

Fe2O3(s) + 2Al(s) ===> Al2O3(s) + 2Fe(l)(!)

thus spraying the nogoodniks with molten iron.

They only good alternative is that she discovers a container of 2,2,4-trimethylpentane, usually used as the standard to determine octane number of gasoline. She fills a bottle with it, stuffs a rag into the mouth, ignites the rag, and hurls it at her attackers. As they claw frantically at their burning clothes, she taunts them as she escapes, "Happy Christmas from Vyachaslev Molotov, suckers!"

this might be risky, but your character can pour nitroglycerin into a bottle and just toss it without any ignition. it is very shock sensitive and will simply blow up once it touches the floor. well, it may require some more precautions on the part of your character.
