So you let them enjoy their child hood while they are young. This is a wonderful time to be alive, and full of fantasy and imagination. Santa is beloved by children and its a joy to a child to believe Santa is real, and to wait for presents and enjoy Christmas time with their peers.

There really is one good reason to lie about santa claus and that is to see the exitment in your childs face and the hope that santa has been watching and hoping they will get what they want. But i believe it is a negative thing to do as years pass your child will find out that he is not real. So i would save the pain and be honest now!

We were just having this discussion this weekend...
We lie about Santa to keep the "wonder" of Christmas alive for our children -- so we can relive the joy of Christmas through them.
It's an odd reason, though, isn't it?
Life would be so much easier if we simply told the truth -- maybe incorporated the legend of St. Nicholas (who was no Santa) into our holiday traditions, but let the kids know there is no such thing as Santa... no free presents, no fat guy flying through the air across multiple time zones.
Getting rid of Santa would save tons of people tons of stress and money.

I never lied to my kids. They asked if Santa was real and I told them Santa was the symbol of loving and giving in this world and as long as there are people who love and care for each other Santa will be real. When they were old enough to fully understand my response they were glad for my answer,

It gives the kid great fun, and some thing to care about.
I would be sad if someone told me at an early age that Santa Claus wasn't real.

What do you mean, is Santa not real?? Seriously, it's fun, creative, teaches kids to use their imaginations, gives them hope and is a great bribe for parents.
Did anyone ever suffer when they found out the truth? I'm greatful that my parents went to the effort to make Santa a special part of our lives.

I believe we use our imagination to be save of growing.
We use Santa Claus to hide or feelings of "no special kids",
We are gonna change across the years, and there will be no pain of memories, when our parents only wanted to gives us a big surprise, there will be an age to change and be mature, and enjoy every good memory of Christmas in our hearts, let kids trust and enjoy their childhood!
