You are feeling uneasy because you are going with what the media and everyone else tells you.The best thing you can and always will be able to do is just follow your heart. If someone has a problem with you being a lesbian then the hell with them.If that is what you want then go for it do not let anyone else live your life for you.It is YOUR life keyword YOUR life so just do what makes you happy and the hell with anyone else that has a different point of view. Our opinions here shouldn't tell you if your wrong or right for being attracted to the same sex noones opinion should tell you that you should be happy and live in the moment.Life is too short for you to prolong your feelings.

If you you are sure that is what you are then you cannot be anything else. Despite the fact that for thier own reasons many people have wanted homosexuality to be against god, they had good reason that you can understand for wishing you were not gay. There is nothing in the Bible that says that you are going to hell for this unless you take it out of context.
If you are worried about Bible, the truth is the Bible only mentions a man laying with a man as he would a woman. So it is a stretch at best usually profered by parents that have always planned for grandchildren. I know you have to suffer this same sense of loss so you can empathize with them.
In the new testament again the references to homosexuality only mention men and these verses appear in the Holiness code of the Leviticus and only applies to the priests and ritual purity. Therefore, according to this perspective, these are religious prohibitions, not moral prohibitions if Christians wanted to be consistent with the Old Testament law code in Leviticus, they should avoid eating rare steak, wearing mixed fabrics, and having marital intercourse during the menstrual period, and getting married if they are going to be pastors.
Another tenet of the new testament according to Paul is that if you think about committing a sin, you have already committed the sin. Furthermore, if you are going to heaven your name was already written in the book of life before you were born. Under this standard if you are gay there is no way to avoid the sin and your name must have never been in the book of Life.
Basically, you are sure you are having these feeling you cannot change them. If you can change them you are not gay. There is no mention in any part of the Bible that prohibits a woman laying with a woman. You may indeed live a good life, accept Jesus as your lord and savior and go to heaven! Be proudly who you are.

If you are not attracted to guys and are attracted to other women, then that is pretty much the definition of a lesbian.
Is it OK to be a lesbian? Of course it is. Do you feel weird because you're just coming to terms with it, or is it relief at having come out? Remember that we spend most of our formative years surrounded by negative images of homosexuality. That takes some time to shake off.
There is nothing wrong with you and you have just as much right to find a partner to love and spend the rest of your life with as any other human being. The fact that you are attracted to people of your own gender, rather than the opposite gender, is irrelevant.

It's not a problem, really. Everyone has their own opinions, and their own feelings. Just because your attracted to someone of the same gender doesn't mean that there is anything wrong with you.
Sure you may face some people who will hate you or think there is something wrong with it, but that's because humans naturally fear what they don't understand, and a LOT of people don't truly understand homosexuality.
It is perfectly natural for anyone to be attracted to both people of the same gender or different gender. It's been happening since the beginning of humanity and it is nothing to be ashamed of

I think it has to do with the idea that straight or bicurious girls aren't flirting with lesbians because they really care about them, but rather because they are simlpy using them as a representative member of "the female sex" to explore their curiosity- a pretty high objectification. I can see where they're coming from, even though I'd just simply be flattered and wouldn't mind it.

Absolutely not! You will freeze in the ninth circle of Dante's inferno with Lucifer, Brutus, Cassius, and Judas forever and a day!
...or you can just live the life you were *born* into (like the rest of us) and enjoy it! Don't listen to the Fundamentalists, Pat Robertson, or Ann Coulter. Being a lesbian is wonderful--embrace it!

You are who you are. You can't change that, and it shouldn't matter. If you're attracted to girls, no one should judge you. I, myself, am not a lesbian but I totally support people who are lesbians, bi, or gay. They're people too, and don't need to be ridiculed or taunted about what their preference is.
You're a lesbian. Everyone who loves you supports you. Don't doubt yourself and don't try to be someone you're not. Be proud of yourself and trust that it's okay being a lesbian.

Lesbians came from the same place as the rest of humanity so of course it's OK. Of course there are many parochial views in which homosexuality is not OK, and to those I say God made me and God is perfect and he doesn't make mistakes. They must remember that sexual preference is not a choice, it how we are created. It is just as rediculous to say that someone chose to be hetero...it just happens,,,no choice. The only chice would be to repress your God given tendencies. Much like the Catholic church has asked their priests to repress their sexuality..we all see how that is working out!

well whatever u feel should be important to you.. your beliefs and values and wants should be put before what others think , If you think its okay and you believe it strongly .. you will find support..
It's you ... you were just made that way .. everyone was made differently and you cant expect everyone to feel the same way .. what kinda world would this be of that was true ..
just consider your self as one more individual that gives people something to think about .. thats a good thing

Though many religious people will tell you otherwise, yes it is okay to a lesbian in my eyes. However, you need to remember it doesn't matter what others think - You need to learn how to accept who you are in order to ever become comfortable with your sexuality.
