Please take a look at this Deathnote manga page http://www.onemanga.com/Death_Note/33/08/

It says that L's investigation group found Misa's Deathnote.
Does that mean that they could also see her Shinigami now?

I have only read up to this part so I 'm just curious. That piece of evidence could solve the case right? What did they do?

If this was an error on the part of the author of the manga, did the author say something about this?

No they did not find her death note. They don't even know of the death note at this point. I can't really explain without spoilers. I'm not sure what the Mangaka is trying to say there. That peice does somewhat solve the case but not in L's time.

Spoiler

They do talk to Rem but that is way later. It after Raito gives up the death note. Rem gives his death note to a lunatic. That lunatic dies and Raito gets the death note back but the authorities have already seen it. This is just a short summary and i have kept out some details.

It only says that they found the pieces of paper she used to write the notes. It never says it is the Death Note.
