You don't need a middle name. Some people don't like giving there kids middle names because they will never use them it is just an old tradition from back in the day when everybody had a common name so middle names were given to avoid having 1000 John Smiths and 500 James Browns. With the multitude of different cultural and made up names of today middle names are no longer required to differentiate people from one another.

My husband's parents didnt' give their kids middle names either - as they were Catholic and believed that the "confirmation name" would be the middle name. My husband has used it for YEARS and the government accepts it. I don't get it either as I was also raised Catholic but told my conirmation name was not a "legal" name and so, I have a middle name. And yes, of course, who else do you blame -- I mean if you have to "put blame" on someone....which I don't think is fair.

NO way. Who cares unless they are using it as the varifying question. NMI works just as well

no way. Not having a middle name makes you unique, it sets you aside from everyone else. It marks you as an individual.

Its not something to get mad about but I guess if you want to see it that way. I have an aunt with no middle name and she doesnt really care anymore.

Since they're the ones who chose to name you, they're directly responsible for you not having a middle name. Yes, they are to be blamed

Well that just give you an opportunity to make up your own middle name. I mean I'm stuck with mine but you, the skies the limits.

I guess as they named you but think your self lucky. My mother doesn't have one, I have one and my youngest son who my hubby named has 3. Phew I bet he will curse his dad when he gets older and has so sign his full name on important documents. I tried to tell hubby this but as this was our first son after 4 girls and is our last child there were a lot of names waiting for him. Poor bugger. :( Merry Xmas to you. :)
