Before they are released from prison? I personally think that it is a mental illness of some sort and I feel that sickos that do that kind of stuff are not going to be changed from just sitting in jail.

To Best Answerer: I agree with your answer, however looking at it from a legal perspective, life in prison is reserved for murderers, while you can argue that a child molester has also ruined a life, he/she hasn't killed them. That is why I asked this question, because I personally believe that they should be kept in jail for the remainder of their lives, legal it would never happen, so in that case, they should have to pass an extensive psychological treatment and should have to repeatedly report back to psychological therapy so that they're mental illness can be monitored regularly.

No, I don't think so. If they can be treated in some way, then maybe there will be some hope for them. Sometimes, I think that the very fact that they are hidden away and secret makes these kind of people become more and more extreme - the end result being an actual attempt at taking a child. If they're exposed as who and what they are, they might tone down, be remorseful or wake up to the horror of what they're perpetrating. Obviously if any of them are actively involved in creating the images, that's a different matter entirely.

I agree with you, they should go through an extensive psychological treatment. I think they have some kind of mental illness thats why they do such a thing, its not normal they should be protecting and guiding children, thats what normal people do. I get very angry and sad when I read or hear about child molesters or offenders, its so disgusting. Infact I think that it is so sick. they are mental phychos who dont have a brain or heart at all. I think they should just be locked up in prison for the rest of their lives...

Yes! I believe that the therapy should be an absolute requirement and it should continue on for the remainder of their lives. AND they should be carefully monitored. I know a man who attempted to do God knows what to a little girl but because she got away after he fell chasing her, (while he was exposed) the judge was lenient on him, AND no one in the neighborhood was notified about his conduct! I'm sure this man has succeeded with others. I also think castration would only make them more dangerous...they may find other ways of assaulting! This is a terrible topic to think about! good question.

i think they should not be released from jail and they should go through the treatment they do drug addicts and alcohol addicts why not sex offenders program to teach them from right to wrong. they should never get out of prison unless they are cured from the sickness they have. but that goes for women and men .
but once a sex offender always will they can't change. acualy the people in jail should give them there own treatment is to do them like they did to people.

I dont think they should ever be able to get out of jail i wish they would bury them under the jail anyone that does that to a child and take a childs life away for there pleasure should not have a chance to live or get out of jail.

YEAH! thats a great suggestion! i completely agree with you 100%! Its obvious that these people are sick and need help, because if they dont get it, they will continue to harm more innocent little children. And who knows, maybe that one sex predator, that gets out with a slap on the wrist, may attack your child so you never know and its better safe than sorry

Yes, they should. Don't forget that once they're let out they're put on the sex offenders website.....so everyone knows exactly what they did jail time for. It's suppose to make the neighbourhood watch out for them or something.....
