does anyone have VERY easy directiions to start a lanyard?

My daugter is 8, the cartoon picture directions are useless, we need a visual on the start of lanyard.

The best I can do is give you many links, all are slightly different, so you best pick the ones you think are most useful.
There are links to Scoubidou as well as to Boondoggle sites, that is because the strings work the same in the start, but the instructions are different.

Tie one string round a pencil with the same knot as you use for your shoelaces. Tuck the other string under the first, so it stays in place.

Now go to this site:
