Technically, most rights were with land owners. In many cases, women who owned land, mostly widows, had as many rights as the male land owners.

no. women did not receive their rights; they had to FIGHT for them. susan b. anthony and many other brave women protested and fought for women's rights sometime in the 1800's or 1900's. (sorry i can't remember the year)
