Assuming you mean "other living creatures", the answer is no. If The all animals besides us suddenly disappeared, it's likely to assume many plants which rely on animals (namely insects) to reproduce will die out, and in short, since ecosystems are so "finely-tuned", most of them, if not all will collapse.

A simpler answer, IMO, is that since the basic function of the human body depends on other life forms, we'll die. Mitochondria, the organelles in our cells that give it energy, are most likely symbiotes, meaning they're diferent animals living inside every one of our cells. If we suddenly lost all our mitochondria, we'd die almost instantly.

So no, we need animals.

Taking out the fact that humans are animals...

There are some animals that humans could live without, some that they could not live without.

I can say this though. If every insect on the planet was to vanish, the human race would go extinct in less than a year. Then again just about every other plant and animal would go extinct too.

Its funny how important humans think they are, yet without these tiny little beings we would not, nor could not exist.

No. The majority of plants that make up the human diet are pollinated by insects. A significant percentage of the human population would probably starve to death without animals.

Maybe, but what kind of life would that be? Not one I would ever want to live!

But perhaps we could redesign (genetically modify) enough plants to survive. The ecology would be toast.
