i have a vacuum for regular use and a shop vac for whatever else- but i need a little vacuum handy to clean my chinchilla cage- there's little bits everywhere daily. it takes about a minute to clean; so i'm not worried about battery charge length.

you really don,t want a cordless for a vac, it will not keep its power, get one that plugs in 110v and get a wet/dry you will be surprised how useful it is,
