More likely to think for themselves and vote with their conscience perhaps, but communists? I don't think they even have a party here in the UK.

In the UK if we have any political leanings at all they tend to be on the "revolutionary socialist" side of things (so I would like to think).

Not for "gay rights" as New Labour has delivered everything we would want politically, but for general social equallity, and ridding this country of ingrained poverty and social disadvantage.

But its sad that so many gays are apolitical, live for today and themselves, and let others do the fighting.

And no party has a monopoly on "out gay" Members of UK Parliament (or European Parliament) :

David Borrow
Ben Bradshaw
Nick Brown
Chris Bryant
Michael Cashman
Ron Davies
Tom Driberg
Alan Duncan
Angela Eagle
Horace Walpole
Peter Mandelson
Gordon Marsden
Matthew Parris
Michael Portillo
Adam Price
Harvey Proctor
Keith Raffan
Chris Smith
Iain Smith
Jeremy Thorpe
Stephen Twigg
Waheed Alli, Baron Alli
Stephen Williams

My political activity in my younger days was commited revolutionary socialist / communist (Socialist Workers Party / Revolutionary Communist Party) .... and a more "gay inviting" groupings would be hard to imagine !

It really depends on what you consider communistic. I, for one, would definitely not consider myself communist. I am for equality from all directions but, that doesn't make me a communist.

That is so stupid I started to skip it, but the USSR had homosexuality illegal. I can only imagine how North Korea treats its gays.
If you're one of those goons that think Democrats are communist, you are so brainwashed it's not funny.
