I already have a LOT of experience with hair coloring and styling and know the basics of cutting hair. But i am seriously considering going into a formal cosmetology/beauty school. I would like to know first of all what career cluster it's in. and second what schools beyond high school did you go to. what is most helpful to you.

Try beautyschoolsdirectory.com for information about available schools in every state. You will be required to have a license which you receive after being tested (in most states) and you may even have to serve an apprenticeship at any shop that hires you.
Some high schools have cosmetology tracks in vocational areas, you can often finish and obtain a license within the school day.
