Sadly - by adding in the word Necessary, you've turned it into an OPINION piece...
And the general opinion is that it is NOT needed - and is only being done to silence the small minority of the people who feel that the Communist Regime is unjust and corrupt. The reason that they HAVE placed limits on ALL forms of communication is to prevent these dissidents from spreading their propaganda - while the government is free to spread THEIR message to the entire population of the country.
Sorry I couldn't give you the answer you were looking for - but at least here is an OPPOSING viewpoint to work with. Just disprove what I've said - and you're good to go ;););););)

It depends on what you mean by media.
Advertising? If so, it can be more reserved and less "up in people's faces". For example. the iPod craze started in Asian (China, etc.) and that influenced the demand in the United States. It affects other countries' economics. Also, China is a developing country and has a very large population. This population includes many people so things in media can affect many people to think a certain way.
Government control is neccesary to limit the amount of things shown to th epublic that's not important. The things gov. might want to communicate is awareness about illnesses like we do in America for MRSA, cervical cancer, etc.

It is necessary because they can easily access information from the "outside" world. Outside meaning American or "free thinking" websites. They recently started google in china. It is heavily regulated though. Those might be some good points to research. Hope that helps :)

Is this what they make you do? Its not at all necessary in my eyes so I couldnt prove it. Media control is dangerous and is the start of oppression. Ask your teachers to prove why restricting your own opinions on subjects is necessary. Sheeesh.
