Yes, we always have the freedom to express our opinions. However, some choose not to do so, not necessarily out of fear of their gov't but primarily fear of violating established social norms.
Yes, it is definitely good, not only for expressing new and different ideas but also as a way of being aware of the extremists and demagogues within society who would pervert such expression to advocate an authoritarian platform. In other words, let the ignorant speak. How else would we know the "enemy within?"
Regarding the influence of enterainment and media influence over people's thoughts, this is more of a mixed bag of sorts. Yes, news media can certainly influence collective popular sentiment (sheep mentality) with "shock value." As for entertainment industry, most people realize that it is just entertainment and should not be taken too seriously.
No more restrictions on the entertainment industry should be put in place. (In fact, I'd say restrictions should be relaxed.) It is a detriment to not only artistic expression, but it also takes away the personal responsibility of adults to make their own decisions regarding what is suitable for themselves and their families.

Yes we do have freedom of expression as long as it does not take some Else's freedoms away. As far as the entertainment.it is our responsibility to change that. If we do not pay or watch they will change it.i heard the other day a G rating a a sure sigh of a bomb movie. We are responsible and cannot pass it on to others.

Throughout history the most progress has been made by questioning social norms (even if it disgusts or enrages) not blind adherence. Under a system of mob rule such as we have groupthink prevails, challenging it is suppressed (sometimes legally) and progress is almost stagnant. Censorship is a mechanism for social control and devolution.

We do in terms of the government but in my opinion the modern left has worked overtime to make it so no one dares speak out against them. What happened to people agreeing to disagree or having principled disagreements instead of all this smearing of the opposition, name calling, throwing around the Nazi label and worse. It is all just BS
I did get a little mad the other day when an R rated preview played when I took my son to see Alvin and the Chipmunks but other than that, we get to decide what to watch- we dont have to watch crap if we dont want to
