At this stage of the buying experience, I've done quite well. When my friends have their kid's fund raisers for school and Church, I order then for Christmas gifts. I'm now 90% prepared for the holiday gift giving. I've even been able to have some of the buying out of the way before the season actually arrives. It helps out all the fund raisers for the kids. I don't think of Christmas as just a sweaty shopping experience, but a 'fun to get for others' time of year.
For example, my mother, 73, loves candles, 'every one' gets her the traditional green and/or red peppermint scented ones in the glass holders. I, on the other hand, thought ahead. My mother is a diabetic and is not allowed sweets on her table. I got her one of those neat looking cinnamon roll candles that comes on a bakery box. One that she will love to look at, love to smell, love to have on her table and not be afraid to light due to smell origin. Simple little thoughts of others, just for fun and cheer. Isn't that what Christmas giving is all about?
