OK, take the AFC, each team is seeded 1-6 based on their record. Example: 1) Pats 2) Colts 3) Steelers 4) Chargers
5) Jags 6) Browns
The Pats and Colts get a 1st round bye as they are the highest 2 seeds. The Steelers would play the Browns in Pittsburgh, and the Chargers would play the Jags in San Diego. For the 2nd round the teams are re-seeded 1-4 based on their record, and 1 seed (Patriots) would play the 4 seed, and the #2 seed (Colts) would play the #3 seed. Higher seed get home field advantage.

The teams are seeded this way:
Seeds 1-4 are the 4 division winners, with the team with the best record being # 1, the team with the next best record is #2, etc.
Seeds 5 and 6 are the wild cards. These are the two teams, other than the division winners, with the best records.
It's possible for a team with a better record than another to actually have a lower seed than that team. For example, if the Colts finish at 14-2, the Jaguars at 11-5, and the Chargers at 10-6, the Chargers would actually be seeded higher than the Jags because they would be a divison winner while Jacksonville would be a wild card team.
In the first round of the playoffs (wild card weekend), the #3 seed plays #6, and the #4 seed plays #5. The top 2 seeds in each conference get a bye in the first week.
In the second playoff week, the #1 seed plays the lowest seed that is still alive, and the #2 seed plays the other team. The third week of the playoffs are the conference championship games, when only 2 teams in each conference are left.
In all post season games except the Superbowl, the highest seeded team is the home team.
In the AFC, the Patriots have clinched the # 1 seed and the Colts have clinched # 2. The other seeds aren't determined for sure yet.

The best team always plays the worst team, simple as that.
1&2 will get a bye the first week. So 3 will play 6 and and 4 will play 5. In week 2, 1 will play the lowest ranked one left, and 2 will play the highest one left.

How can human beings be dumb sufficient to think of the Ravens and Steelers are susceptible. seem on the Ravens time table, seem who they performed, seem on the video games they misplaced, and seem on the basically precise score of those video games. they seem to be a great soccer group. comparable may be reported with reference to the Steelers. great soccer group. And green Bay became 10-6, so we are patently worse than you supply us credit for, even in spite of the shown fact that we did no longer lose a million of those video games by greater suitable than 4 factors....donk.
