Yes tampons are perfectly safe! Most of them are made of cotton but the applicator is made of plastic...it's used to get the tampon into you but it is then removed.
Tampons are different depending on the company that makes them...check the box, it should answer all these questions and more.
And it can hurt but not a lot...usually it just feels uncomfortable. Once it's inside you may feel it but it won't hurt. Good luck!

P.S. It's recommended that you try tampons on your heaviest bleeding days, otherwise it will hurt! If you really want to try, use some lubricant to help it slide through.

Tampons are made of:made of cotton, rayon, or a blend of the two. It is inserted into your vagina (where the source of blood is coming from) by using an applicator-which is usually cardboard (which you can flush) or plastic (which you can't flush) or none at all (those you have use your finger-which can be messy). It is safe to use during your periods but don't forget it is in there! Prolonged use of tampons can cause toxic shock syndrome, which can be fatal. Not trying to scare you or anything! It is easy to forget you are wearing a tampon, and so just don't forget!
You can use the tampon whether you are a virgin or not. It doesn't hurt going in, but you need to relax when doing so. The instructions on how to insert is inside all boxes. If you have any questions, I'd call your OB and the nurse will be more then happy to assist you.

First off, don't use a tampon when your not bleeding. Wait until you are flowing. The tampon that stays inside is like a cotton fiber. The sleeve that you use to put it in does not stay inside, it is removed right away. The first few times it might be a bit uncomfortable. Don't use unless you are ready. You still have to take them and change just as often as a pad, but the clean up is much cleaner. starting out i would suggest using a plastic applicator. Also, if you have more questions the box has a nice insert for first time women to read. And most of all, when putting in, stay relaxed. any questions, go ask your mom.

Dont put one in if your not bleeding!! That will hurt. Otherwise No they dont hurt. Im not sure what they'r made of. Maybe cotton or something. The applicator may be plastic or cardboard but the inside is cotton or something. You put it in your vagina. Its the whole that like an inch from your bumhole, you cant miss it. Hope I helped!!
Tampons are way better than pads, once you get the hang of them you'll love'em. And I usually put them in while standing up, check out the instructions they come with. I had trouble at first, so dont give up. Ask your mom if you need. Good Luck!

you can buy either a tampon with a cardboard applicator, or a plastic applicator, whatever your prefer.
NO! you can NOT use one if you aren't on your period.
If you really want to try putting one in, just put the applicator in, just don't push the actual tampon in.
and actual tampon in made out of cotton or rayon or a mix of both.
hope i helped.

You seem very confused. Tampons are merely wads of cotton that are inserted into the vagina. The only plastic part of the tampon is the applicator which is used only for insertion. I would not recommend trying one if you are not on your period. This can often lead to infection.

You should not use tampons when you are not on your period. I think you should ask this question to your mother or an adult woman that you trust. She'll be able to explain the whole thing to you.
