Including depertment store cards I have 11, although most are not used. I really only use 3 of the cards (2 Visa 1 Discover) and they get paid off in full every month.

You really only need one general use, low interest credit card. Use it only when necessary and you will be very thankful in the long run! Use it only for "emergencies: and pay it off each month if you can.
