1200 miles and 30 miles to a gallon 1200^30 = 40
She needed 40 gallons of gas.

Gas costs $1.10 per gallon.
40 * $1.10 = $44
She'll buy $44 worth of gas for the trip.

20 nickles in $1, so 44* 20 = 880

She needs 880 nickles to buy 40 gallons of gas to drive 1200 miles.

she paid $44 for her trip; all you have to do is divide the total miles, that is 1200 and how much the truck averaged which is 30 miles; the answer you get when you divide 30 by 1200, you them multiply it by $1.10, then you will get $44
