I went to bed on Monday night with a bit of a headache and some face pain. Woke up Tuesday morning with what I would have called a full blown migraine- severe headache, nausea, numbness, dizziness, extreme tiredness. Slept until 230pm only drinking water nothing to eat. Woke up feeling a bit sick still but much better, decided to migrate from the bed to the couch. Layed on couch for 15 minutes, felt severely unwell, back to bed. Got up at dinner time really hungry, ate some steamed brocolli, cauliflower and carrot. Layed on couch. About an hour later had severe abdominal pains (like I had when I had appendicitis) and then got diarrhoea. Diarrhoea only lasted an hour or so. Pains much longer. Woke up this morning (wednesday) pains gone, nausea and dizziness gone, slight headache and still so tired. Should I hold off going to the doctor, is it just a bug or something else? I ate some olive dip that was reduced for quick sale on Monday could it be that? I also get migraines from food, I ate some steak on Monday night with a marinade on it. Can anyone help?

Oh and this is probably totally inrellavant but I have been having a lot of rib pain and sometimes when I breathe it feels rattly in my back.

What you describe sounds very much to me overall as a viral illness, however your symptoms are quite mixed!! Headache for sure could be a viral symptom and the face pain can indicate sinus inflammation, but severe headache can also indicate dehydration or low blood sugars plus all of your other symptoms like dizziness, extreme tiredness and numbness. Again, the abdo pains and the diarrhoea are a symptom of a viral illness such as gastroenteritis.....have you ACTUALLY been sick?? You haven't mentioned this but it would explain if you were dehydrated and if you hadn't eaten for a period of time and were just drinking water your blood sugars would dip causing the headaches, etc, etc.The olive dip...hmm...I guess it is possible this could be the cause and if you have been sick this is the body's way of ejecting the bug from your system.
Abdo pain of any kind is always tricky to differentiate because several things can cause it....you mention you had appendicitis but did they actually remove your appendix??? Generally they do because once they have established the cause they whip it out(sorry for the terminology!!) and often even with suspected but unconfirmed appendicitis they perform an appendisectomy anyway.....IF NOT in your case...be very wary that it isn't your appendix, however if you have been able to move around upright and were not being violently sick the chances are slim....as you know, appendicitis is EXTREMELY painful....Urine infections can also be responsible your symptoms but to rule this out you would need a urine sample at your GP to be dipsticked.
Sorry if my answer is wishy washy but its a tricky one to give a definite answer to but it certainly sounds viral as you seem to be on the mend somewhat and it's a case of the bug working its way out of your system....afraid with viruses it is a waiting game and there is rarely any treatment for them!
Lastly, your last point about the rib pain and rattly back/chest? Could again be viral cause...a cold type illness, alternatively could be a chest infection/pneumonia....which you need to seek treatment for asap.have you been coughing??This can cause muscular pains around your chest too. See how you go and if your symptoms continue make your way to your GP...all the best.

You definitely need to see a doctor asap. I think the previous answerer was suggesting pneumonia, but get yourself checked out. hope this helps.

I would get a chest x-ray asap! You sound like you have phenomena. You have some type of infection from what you've described. Phenomena you can be walking around and not even know you have it. Please go to your doctor and get this checked out.

it extremely is a mix of issues--frequently it is too little workout (as a results of too lots convenience of "non-actual" activities and pursuits, loss of appropriate social places TO get workout like parks and sidewalks, etc.) and having food thank you to handy. Plus we are continuously uncovered to it---billboards, television/Radio, eating place commercials, in line at verify-out counters, merchandising machines, on line. in case you're continuously uncovered to it, you would be continuously questioning approximately it. And the extra you think of approximately some thing, the extra you will tend to work together in in spite of it extremely is you're questioning approximately--food, activities, television, etc.. i in my view hate that element of united states of america of america. we are so severe; it is the two those "wellness-nuts" who're captivated with monitoring each little thing or those people who do not comprehend or do not care and are captivated with eating each little thing. Then there are human beings like me, who grew up around the two styles of persons, and now I have not any thought myself extremely the thank you to handle issues like food and hence conflict lots. i comprehend what's healthful and good, and various the time i'm able to persist with it, yet each in specific situations seeing commercials for a advantageous chocolate cake or somebody else eating it, I start to think of, "i've got been extremely healthful recently. and that i've got been putting various time into college. Plus I in simple terms aced that massive examination... perhaps I deserve it." and then that piece of chocolate cake will develop into 2 products, and develop I (somebody who eats fruit & oatmeal for breakfast and salads for dinner, and runs 6 miles various cases a week plus capability trains) in simple terms grow to be between the lazy individuals. it extremely is a curler coaster. and that i could extremely opt to get off.
