ok long story short i hate the pill but have no other choice but to stay on it as my periods are too long, heavy and painful. they last about 8- 12 days usually, so you can imagine my anger about that. i used to be on microgynon when i was 15 due to my period pain. i ended up in a relationship for 2 years and stayed on it without any problem apart from a bit of weight gain. i came off eventually to try the jag instead, i got spotting with this so never got it agen. went back to microgynon, that was fine. came off it due to personal reasons. a year later went on it agen. fine for first few months. then spotting. then tried loestron. got spotting. tried logynon, no spotting BUT (doc didnt tell me i cudnt tricycle with it even tho thats why i went to her in the first place...) am now back on microgynon still getting spotting. wot pill is there that i can tricycle with that does not cause spotting!!!!??? i am at my wits end.im 20n a student so do not want to have to deal with spotting

Rebecca is describing the Nuvaring. You put it in, and leave it in for 3 weeks. Then you throw it out, and go without it for 1 week. After your inactive week, put in a new one.

I cannot remember the exact name, but my sister who is 21 went off the pill for the same reasons. She recently tried a new contraceptive that you put inside of you and then once a month you have to remove it so you can have your normal monthly cycle then you put it back inside. Its like a circular ring and she says she cant feel it inside there. She says its the best contraceptive shes tried. You could ask your doctor about it.
