what sort of fluffy it it?
if it's towelling, DON'T use conditioner too often, and if you're in a hard water area, use a water softening product in the washing machine like calgon or similar....
its the limescale that deposits in the fabric that makes towesl start to feel 'hard'
Tumble drying does help as well, but isn't too good for the planet!
(damn good for getting clothes dry at this time of year though!)

i use fabric conditioner to soften it then hang up to dry, then i give it a while in the tumble drier and its fluffy and soft.

dont wash it. but if you have to make it warm water. use liquid conditioner and throw it in the dryer. FLUFF

Wash in soft water & use fabric softener.
If you don't have soft-water, save your dehumidifier water.
